Additional Notes: Terminology and Interface Concepts
This page explains the specific terms and concepts used throughout the Xezalimorux service, helping users understand the vocabulary of the information-organisation environment before and during their use of the system.
Core Terminology
Information set: A collection of related data items that have been prepared for inclusion in the Xezalimorux system. An information set may contain records that share a common topic, origin, or classification category. Sets are the basic organisational unit within the system.
Classification: The process of assigning descriptive labels and category memberships to information items within the system. Classification is performed by AI-assisted tools and is intended to support navigation and review. It does not constitute an assessment of the quality or significance of the classified content.
Classification label: A specific descriptive tag applied to a record or information set during the classification process. Labels group related content together and appear within the review interface to help users navigate. A single record may carry multiple labels.
Review interface: The user-facing environment through which authorised users access and navigate the organised information within Xezalimorux. The interface presents classified records in a structured format and provides navigational tools for exploring the system's information architecture.
Record: An individual item of information within the system. Each record occupies a specific position within the organisational structure, carries its assigned classification labels, and can be viewed in full through the review interface.
Organised set: An information set that has completed the preparation and classification stages and is available for review within the system. The term distinguishes prepared content from raw or unclassified data.
Interface Concepts
Category view: A display mode within the review interface that presents all records belonging to a selected classification label. Category views allow users to examine a coherent subset of the information set without navigating through the entire structured content.
Structured overview: A summary view of an information set, generated by the system to provide a high-level orientation before the user descends into detailed review. Structured overviews reflect the system's interpretation of the available content and are not manually curated summaries.
Navigational cues: Visual and structural elements within the review interface that guide users through the system's information architecture. These include breadcrumbs, category selectors, related record links, and positional indicators within an organised set.
Relational link: A connection identified by the system between two or more records based on shared classification attributes or other structural features. Relational links appear in the review interface as navigable connections and allow users to move between related records efficiently.
Enquiry channel: The formal pathway through which users submit access requests and support questions to the Xezalimorux team. The primary enquiry channel is the contact form on the Enquiry page. Users with confirmed access may also communicate with the support team through the contact details provided at the time of access confirmation.
What These Terms Do Not Mean
Several terms used in the Xezalimorux context may carry additional connotations in other settings. The following clarifications are provided to prevent misunderstanding.
Classification within Xezalimorux refers specifically to the descriptive labelling of information for navigational purposes. It does not mean regulatory classification, professional categorisation, or any form of certified assessment.
Review within this context means the act of reading and navigating organised information. It does not mean independent audit, editorial verification, or professional evaluation of the content.
Organised set indicates that information has been structured for accessibility. It does not indicate that the information is complete, accurate, or up to date.
The Xezalimorux team is available to discuss terminology questions. Enquiries about specific terms may be submitted through the contact form on the Enquiry page.
